4 WAYS TO WORK OUT AS STAY AT HOME

Most people don’t like to clean and yet, others don’t like to
work out. No matter which side of the coin you are on, you can turn cleaning
into a workout. Make sure you keep your back straight and push with your abs
instead of our arms. Drop the dusting wand and go back to dusting with a rag.
Use a little elbow grease and really get into all the nooks and crannies. It
might not be an intense arm workout, but it will help you stay toned. Cleaning
under furniture with a rag will allow you to do pushups while on the floor.
Speaking of doing pushups, remember when you were in school and
you had to do all those “silly” exercises? Well, those “silly” exercises
might just be your saving grace when it comes to working out
with kids. Spend five minutes doing pushups, another five minutes doing
crunches, and yet another doing lunges. These can be done in spurts and almost
anywhere. It’s not that big a deal if you get interrupted and you will start to
feel the burn pretty fast.
Yes, we would all like to think we can block out 30-60 minutes
of our day to have the kids sit, be quiet, and allow you to work out. This is
not realistic. We suggest you find 5-10 minute, You-Tube, workout videos. When
the kids are napping, playing, or maybe even eating, you can get in a quick
workout. Working out in short bursts can be just as effective as spending a
dedicated amount of time at the gym. Work with what time you have.
That’s right, turn on some
music, invite your kids along, and have a little dance party. This is great
cardio for you and your kids. It can also be a lot of fun. Turn it into a mimic
game and see if your kids can keep up with you or even you with them.
Whether you are a runner or not, a good jogging stroller will
let you get out of the house with your young child and get some exercise.
Running, jogging, or walking are a great way to get your blood flowing and the
stroller lets you do this while your little one sleeps. Are your kids too old
for a stroller? No worries, you can always just go for a walk and have them
come along.
